Duracell® PowerPix™ is a battery that is designed using NiOx™ Technology, based on nickel oxyhydroxide chemistry, that enables significantly better performance (up to 2 times more pictures*) in digital cameras than regular alkaline batteries. Duracell® PowerPix™, available in AA and AAA sizes, is the newest addition to the Duracell® portfolio.
Duracell® PowerPix™ chemistry and cell construction are designed to release more power to meet the needs of extremely high drain applications such as digital cameras
Similar to our alkaline batteries, Duracell® offers a 7 year freshness guarantee for Duracell® PowerPix™.
While we recommend that Duracell® PowerPix™ only be used in digital cameras
-
The consumer will not see a performance advantage versus regular or premium alkaline in other devices
-
Flashlights may burn brighter, and motors may run faster but for shorter durations than with alkaline because of the higher operating voltage of PowerPix™
-
No significant safety issues or device damage will occur if NiOOH is used in general purpose devices
-
Most devices will operate just fine with PowerPix™, but consumers will not see a performance advantage
-
Flashlight bulbs may have shorter life due to higher brightness
-
Motors in toys and appliances may run faster, hotter, or louder for a shorter duration
No, Duracell® PowerPix™ is a non-rechargeable primary battery. Like any other non-rechargeable primary battery, recharging Duracell® PowerPix™ can have a negative impact on the battery safety and is strongly discouraged. Abuse of the battery, such as recharging, may result in leakage or explosion.
No, because of their different chemistries they must not be mixed.
